QUICK HELP

My Up Light will not connect.

The most common cause of apps not connecting is either your Up Light is not powered on, it's already connected to another device, your phone timed out the connection, or a recent OS update has disrupted Bluetooth capabilities. It can easily be resolved by taking the following steps:

  1. First try powering off your Up Light by using the switch on your lamp and then powering it back on so it is lit. This will help reset any timed out connections. If that doesn't resolve the issue, proceed to the following:

  2. Delete your Up Light app.
  3. Turn OFF Bluetooth on your phone.
  4. Hard power off your phone - For instructions, click here: iOS | Android
  5. Wait 30 seconds and then restart your phone.
  6. Click here to download the app and re-install
  7. Turn Bluetooth back on.
  8. Power off your Up Light for 30 seconds and then turn it back on so it is lit.
  9. Open the app and ACCEPT all permissions as iOS and Android require these permissions for the app to work properly.
  10. Your Up Light should be able to connect, it may take up to 60 seconds the first time.
If the issue persists, please send us a message at support@theuplight.com.

My UpLight is turning on too early or at the wrong time.

Your UpLight relies on power from your lamp to keep time. As such, if you manually turn off the lamp (for example, by using the light switch), your UpLight can lose time.

To avoid this issue, simply set your wake on your alarm every evening before going to bed. When your alarm time is set, the current time is saved to your UpLight as well as the wake time and you can shut down your phone if you wish. If you need to use your light in the middle of the night, simply turn it on and off using the app.

My app crashed

The most common cause of the Up light app crashing is due to Apple or Android updates to your phone's OS - which can remap/rename the app's supporting files. The solution to this is to restart your services then delete and reinstall your app. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Delete your Up Light app. Note: For Android devices, you'll also need to DELETE APP DATA. Click here for instructions
  2. Turn OFF Bluetooth on your phone.
  3. Hard power off your phone - For instructions, click here: iOS | Android
  4. Wait 30 seconds and then restart your phone.
  5. Click here to download the app and re-install
  6. Turn Bluetooth back on.
  7. Power off your Up Light for 30 seconds and then turn it back on so it is lit.
  8. Open the app and ACCEPT all permissions as iOS and Android require these permissions for the app to work properly.
  9. Your Up Light should be able to connect, it may take up to 60 seconds the first time.
